Braun Mischel

Braun Mischel grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky, and attended the University of Kentucky where he focused on business. His brother-in-law was working at Ken-tron Mfg., Inc. in town and told Braun there was a job opening. Braun joined the team in 1978 on the assembly line for the wire division. In the early 1980s, as the story goes, two salesmen were sitting in a bar and looking around wondering what in here they could sell. When a band jumped on stage to perform, the men looked at the guitar player and said something to the effect of "we could sell strings!” They contacted Ken-tron with their idea and the rest is history. Providing the wire for guitar strings is a large part of their business to this day. Braun is now a vice president and oversees the day-to-day operations of the wire division.
