Music City Gets An Audio Education at Summer NAMM 2016
At the Summer NAMM Show, held June 23-25 at Nashville’s Music City Center, the professional recording sector will gather for three days of high-end training. Delivered as the core component of Summer NAMM Show, the TEC Tracks program will feature a full series of seminars from industry leaders and insiders, and will include expert engineering tutorials, mastering secrets from the AES, recording advice, and even a glimpse into the future of audio.
TEC Tracks represents NAMM’s most technology focused education program to date – a deliberate choice, explains NAMM President and CEO, Joe Lamond. “The sound and recording professional has always had a home at Summer NAMM, but their world is changing incredibly fast, so is our approach to helping our members improve their knowledge and ultimately build their business,” he said. “TEC Tracks is this summer’s best opportunity to learn from some of the most creative minds out there, all while soaking up the unique and productive atmosphere of Summer NAMM.”
Setting the tone for TEC Tracks will be an opening keynote panel on Thursday: Studio Engineering: Riding The Changes. Featuring hit-making engineers such as John Kurzweg, Reid Shippen, Ryan Hewitt, and Jason Lehning, the panel will explore how the recording sector has changed, and how engineers can capitalize. On Thursday afternoon, Grammy-winner Glenn Meadows will moderate an AES discussion of the latest tools and techniques in mastering. Nashville-based music legend Tony Brown will also appear on Friday, alongside Steve Marcantonio and Chuck Ainley, to offer the low-down on the real stories of recording in Music City. Finally, on Saturday A3E will moderate an entire day of seminars and panels examining the future of audio in conjunction with the show’s Music Industry Day, a day that welcomes all music and pro audio pros to attend.
