Founded in 1882 in Grand Rapids, the York Band Instruments Company produced a comprehensive range of musical instruments, from strings and percussion to winds. Like many American enterprises during World War II, the York Band Instrument Company contributed to the war effort. They pivoted their manufacturing capabilities to produce vital components for military equipment, supporting the construction of tanks, aircraft, and communication systems, thereby playing a crucial role in the Allied victory against fascism.
