Carol Bonomo
Oral History Information
Carol Bonomo played piano as a child but stopped playing once she left home. However, she was interested in playing in a group setting in her retirement, enough to start cello instruction with the Renaissance Institute of Music, where her fellow cellist was 11 years old. She played with them for several years before leaving the now 13-year-old cellist in charge of the section to join the North Coast Strings, where she is currently a proud member. The North Coast Strings, located at NAMM’s Museum of Making Music.
The North Coast Strings is a musical ensemble designed to be an entry point for adults who want to learn to play a stringed instrument (violin, viola, cello, bass) or for those who have played in the past but haven’t picked up their instrument in several years.
