Diane Clark
Oral History Information
Diane Clark enthusiastically joined the Lowrey Organ Company team in 1977 when it was owned by Chicago Musical Instruments (CMI). She first worked closely with Billy Wenlund in the sales and marketing department and later worked side by side with Dennis Houlihan when he returned from his five-year assignment with Lowrey in London. Diane diligently assisted with the renowned Lowrey breakfasts held during NAMM Shows and helped coordinate and execute both national and international trade shows. The Lowrey breakfasts successfully brought together more than 1,000 customers and partners, no small feat in the days before computers, cell phones, and modern event-planning tools. Diane thoroughly enjoyed her time at Lowrey and took great pride in helping create memorable experiences for dealers and industry colleagues. In the early 1980s, Diane was given the opportunity to work directly with the JVC team in Japan, where she developed an appreciation for Japanese culture and business practices. Throughout her career, she cultivated many lasting friendships within the music products industry, particularly with Dennis Houlihan and members of the engineering team in Japan, including Kazuo Ishibashi. Her dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to building relationships left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of working with her.
