Luyang Liu

Luyang Liu was born in China and was greatly encouraged by her mother to develop her skills as a musician. Luyang attended VanderCook College of Music and earned her degree in music education, graduating with a teaching license to teach K-12 band, choir and orchestra in Illinois. She taught music and choir in the Chicago area where her programs were supported by the local music store, Quinlan & Fabish. Luyang’s first teaching job was as band director for k-6 as well as classes for special needs students. In 2019 she began working at Quinlan & Fabish as she developed many positive relationships with the store's staff due to their support. Her role with the retailer was as assistant manager for the Arlington Heights location, a role she greatly enjoys as she is able to assist with the operation of the store as well as customer service, which of course includes her fellow band directors.
