What would you like attendees to know about your group? How would you describe your music?
I want The NAMM show attendees to know that my band represents the next generation of the Los Angeles contemporary jazz scene. My music comes from jazz foundations and instrumentation however, I blend elements from all forms of black music to make easily digestible songs that take listeners along for whatever story I'm trying to tell.
What excites you the most about connecting with and performing for fellow artists and industry professionals at the show?
I’m looking forward to building relationships that last far beyond this convention. I want to connect with as many people as possible so I can push my artistry forward and hopefully find ways I can help others out as well. It takes a village, and I can't wait to welcome newcomers to this musical journey!
The NAMM Show is an event where you can discover innovations in musical gear and a place to learn and grow as a professional. How will this spirit of creativity and education influence your experience and performance?
As a jazz musician, improvisation and creativity are driving forces that make this music resonate with players and listeners. When you give a musician new ways to express themselves it opens up a realm of new opportunities and feelings to convey in our music. I hope that I get the chance to try out new sounds, technologies and conduits to further push my message across!
