Bob Bergin
Oral History Information
Bob Bergin fell in love with music-making the moment he joined his school band! While earning his degree in music, Bob was often found on the bandstand playing trumpet in a number of dance orchestras. With a passion for his instrument, he landed a job at Ault’s Music store in Fort Worth, Texas, where he met his longtime friend, Tommy Moore. Tommy’s father established the store and Tommy inherited his father’s entrepreneurial spirit, owning a number of music companies over his long career, including Rhythm Band Instruments. Bob and his wife Laura would later purchase the company. Along the way, Bob developed meaningful friendships within the music industry, helped develop several brands and served the industry as a member of the NAMM President's Council with Joe Lamond. When you sit down with Bob and he begins to talk about his life in music you will soon discover his passion remains just as strong as it was in the 7th grade!
