Bogdan Pawlikowski

Bogdan Pawlikowski grew up in a family of violin luthiers. His uncle John and father Walter both achieved notoriety for their handed crafted instruments as well as their well-respected repair work. Bogdan was born in Poland and has many memories of going to the violin shops and seeing his family’s handy work. In 1987, Bogdan moved to the United States and attended high school while being trained in violin repair and building. In the late 80s, he began working alongside his father in the repair shop at Kagan & Gaines Music in Chicago. During his NAMM interview, Bogdan performed on one of his father’s violins, with his father watching proudly nearby.
