Brady Massey
Oral History Information
Brady Massey was so inspired by his music teachers and band directors while in school that he decided to follow in their footsteps. After receiving his bachelors in music education and his masters in composition, Brady’s first teaching job was in Turman, Arkansas. From the very first day in music education Brady worked with the the Amro Music road reps. Their retail store located in Memphis worked with Brady and helped support his band programs over the years. In fact, each one of his jobs during Brady’s long career as a band director, including a twenty year stay teaching in Pocahontas, Arkansas, was supported by his friends at Amro Music. After his retirement from public schools, Brady was asked to develop the newly created music education degree program at Williams Baptist University in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, where he once again gets to apply his passion for music and teaching to help develop future band directors.
