C.J. Averwater

C.J. Averwater recalls the story of his great grandfather, M.J. Averwater, a music teacher who decided to open a small store in Memphis called Amro Music. C.J. grew up in the business and learned from his grandfather, M.J.’s son, Robert, the history of their family owned and operated store. C.J. also learned from his father, Chip, and uncle Pat, who continued the family tradition from Robert. Just like many of his family members, C.J. has been active in the growth and development of the industry, such as his role as former president of the NAMMYP group, which seeks to encourage young professionals in our industry.
