Dallas Smith

Dallas Smith began playing the clarinet at the age of eleven. By the time he was in high school he was in an all-star group and later focused on classical music throughout college.  His love for jazz and new age music emerged over the years and Dallas found himself naturally adding classical touches to both his playing and his songwriting. He became an early adapter of wind synthesizers and often recorded using the Lyricon. Some of those recordings included Susan Mazer (his wife) on harp. The couple set out to create a way for music to be heard at any time of day for patients in hospitals in need of relaxing and soothing music. In 1992 they established the C.A.R.E. Channel and have since been providing music 24 hours a day for over 1,000 hospitals. Just imagine the positive impact this service has provided the thousands of people who have benefited from hearing their music!
