David Jewell

David Jewell remembers his brother’s snare drum sitting in the closet and wanting so much to play it.  He begged his teacher, Mrs. Mandy, to join the band and after several tries, she agreed.  David remarked during his NAMM Oral History interview that if she didn’t say yes, he probably would not be in the industry today.  Joining the school band was a real fork in the road for David, and one he so gratefully looks back on as the beginning of his true love and passion for music.  David worked at Milano Music in Arizona, where he helped established the now popular drum department.  After 14 years in retail, he was hired at Yamaha becoming product manager before landing the job as Marketing Manager.
