Oral History Information
David Silverman is a visionary animator, writer and musician best known for his pivotal role in shaping The Simpsons. As a longtime supervising director, he brought dynamic energy and expressive animation to the series, including the original Tracey Ullman shorts. Music has been a lifelong passion for David, sparked by early exposure to Gilbert and Sullivan productions with his parents. Since 2009, he has been the charismatic tuba player for Andy Comeau’s lively LA-based band Vaud and the Villains, and he remains a devoted attendee of the NAMM Show, where he continues to battle his ever-growing collection of tubas.
