David Stewart

David Stewart remembers making a choice to go from playing music professionally to the technological side of touring and working as a sound engineer. He toured during the 1980s, working live sound for a company that worked with several performers such as The Coasters and Chubby Checker, among others. Along the way, David learned first-hand the ins and outs of the business and the roles of front of house and as a festival producer. In 1987, he formed a recording studio in Louisville, Kentucky and took great pride in recording his friends and other local artists. In 1992, David became Sweetwater Sound employee number 20 just years after the company began. He wore many hats within the company over the years and grew as the company did. He started on the phones as a salesperson, and advanced through many vital roles in the company as the sales team grew from five to over 300. David is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.
