Don Hilsberg
Oral History Information
Don Hilsberg fell in love with the harp when he was in the third grade and was taken to the symphony. His parents could not afford a harp, so young Don began taking organ and piano lessons. Midway into college at the University of Denver, Don was given the chance to play the harp and it was all he had hoped for. He really connected with the instrument and today serves as a harp technician for Kolacny’s Music. Along the way, Don was a beloved music teacher for nearly 30 years, teaching at the elementary level and even preschool. Don retired from his teaching position on a Friday and started at the store the very next day. You can see the enthusiasm on his face and hear the emotion in his voice when he talks about his current role in helping customers with all of their harp needs.
