Ed Cramer
Oral History Information
Ed Cramer was the long time music attorney who played a vital role in ensuring the performance and composing rights of musicians and songwriters. His list of clients reads like a who’s who of American Popular Music and his dedication to ASCAP and other organizations has helped many performers gather the royalties they earned with their writing and recordings. During Ed’s Oral History interview he provided great insight as to the laws for copyrights and how they have changed over the years as well as great stories about Irving Berlin and Benny Goodman. Ed was a long time supporter of the Oral History program and helped to arrange several interviews in the years following his own 2001 interview. Ed passed away in May 2012 and will be missed.
