Eugene Moles grew up surrounded by music. His father was a studio musician who also had a guitar repair shop in Bakersfield, California (he was an expert on refinishing, he added the famous red, white and blue colors to Buck Owens’ instruments). Eugene developed his playing skills playing in clubs and bars while still a teenager. He also worked for Semie Moseley at the Mosrite Guitar Company in 1976, gaining knowledge on instrument repair and building. The following year he hit the road touring in Merle Haggard’s band, which was followed by a gig in the house band for the popular Palomino Club in North Hollywood. Among his other career highlights was a ten-year gig in Del Reeves’ band at the Grand Ole Opry beginning in 1990. A few years later he opened his own repair shop in Nashville, TN called Eugene's Guitar Lab, where he spends much of his time when he is not gigging.
