Fred Sturm takes great pride in speaking about the many developments he has witnessed within the Piano Technician's Guild since he first became a member. The creation and implementation of industry protocols and the increased number and quality of training classes have all gone a long way in assisting piano technicians in providing the best service possible for their customers. Fred’s own goals as a technician have always been to focus on the preparation of the action in making the piano into the best-sounding playable musical instrument. As Fred notes, “the piano is nothing if it is not properly prepared to be played.”
