Jeff Falgien
Oral History Information
Jeff Falgien’s passion for the piano and organ can be traced back to the age of six. Before he was a teenager, Jeff was hired to play in front windows of mall music stores to generate interest among the shoppers (this was called front pumping). Over the years he worked for a number of music stores and learned from some of his mentors such as Vern Schafer and David Abell. Jeff joined his friend Dennis Hagerty in 1983 working together to build Keyboard Concepts. Nearly forty years later and with four locations they fostered the careers of many employees including Jeff Bauer who bought Jeff out in order for Jeff to retire. Dennis retired the following year. Mr. Falgien also served our industry in several ways including as a director of the NAMM board from 2009 until 2012.
