Joe Teixeira

Joe Teixeira opened a small music store in San Jose, California in 1964.  As the fiftieth anniversary approached in 2013, Joe sat down for his NAMM Oral History interview to begin documenting the contributions of Music Village!  The company has grown to two locations and focuses on teaching, just as Joe did at the very beginning.  The popularity of the guitar in the early 60s helped establish the store with its instrument selection as well as lessons and repairs.  Joe soon found he had a talent for hiring and training quality people, most of whom stayed in the "family" for decades, which is testimony to Joe's own skills as a leader.
