The Music Shoppe

John Beeson is the visionary founder and dedicated owner of The Music Shoppe in Terre Haute, Indiana. His lifelong love affair with the guitar began when he received one as a Christmas gift during his childhood, sparking a profound passion for all things guitars. This passion carried John through years of performing as keyboardist in the band Dicky James & The Blue Flames, which gained regional acclaim and released the album Hard Rain. In 1973, at the dawn of the vintage guitar craze, John channeled his expertise and enthusiasm into opening his store, which specializes in Fender, Guild, and Peavey instruments, as well as offering expert repairs. Beyond his entrepreneurial endeavors, John is the driving force behind the Wabash Valley Musicians Hall of Fame, an organization he established to “promote fellowship and friendship among all musicians of the Wabash Valley, recognize and award outstanding area musicians, and foster and maintain a meaningful relationship with the community.” A fun fact that ties into John's deep roots in entertainment: his father, Jack Beeson, appeared in five “Our Gang” reels back in 1927, showcasing that the love of the arts runs in the family.
