John Lee

John Lee is the eldest son of Tom and Betty Lee, the founders of a chain of music retail stores in Hong Kong and Canada. During John’s first NAMM interview, he spoke of the company’s expansion from Hong Kong into North America following his father’s interest in keeping the store growing in new markets. John took over the business in Canada after college but eventually returned to Hong Kong. In 2024, he was interviewed a second time to talk about his passion project, which began when he retired. His foundation, Life Passion project, seeks to cultivate a passion for music in people of all ages. The website also provides tools to encourage parents to assist their children with their musical journey as a career or as a hobby.
