Kristy Porter

Kristy Porter was inspired by her father to pick up the guitar, and this passion ultimately shaped her career. A trip to the Oxnard, California Guitar Center for guitar strings changed her life when she saw a job opening at the store. Eager to learn and help wherever needed, Kristy became the location’s first female sales associate. Her dedication paid off, as she went on to become the store’s first female manager. Kristy’s career skyrocketed, taking her to the corporate office, where she became the first female accessories buyer, director of accessories, director of technology, and director of acoustic instruments. Her pioneering spirit continues to break barriers in the industry. Kristy participated in the 2024 Women of NAMM (WoN) leadership summit, a yearly event designed to foster leadership development and expand participants’ professional networks.
