Lenny LeBlanc
Oral History Information
Lenny LeBlanc and his friend Peter Carr formed a band together in 1975. LeBlanc & Carr, as they were known, had a big hit with the song “Falling” in 1977, which Lenny co-wrote with Eddie Struzick. Just the year before they were the first to record another song by Eddie, “Sharing the Night Together,” which was a big hit for Dr. Hook in 1978. Lenny was also a studio musician in Muscle Shoals and recorded a number of songs on his own, including “Hound Dog Man” about Elvis Presley in 1976. The song served as a tribute to Elvis and was often heard on the radio in the days and months following his passing the next year. Lenny penned the very well-known Christian song “Above All” as well as recording several Christian-based albums such as Say a Prayer(1984), Faithful Heart (1990), Above All (1999), and Love Like No Other (2010).
