Mark Begelman

Mark Begelman formed Mars Music after a career in retail sales of office supplies. The idea behind Mars was to create a big box retail company with locations around the country. To compete, Mark sought to include elements of music retailing that were not always found in chain stores at the time, mostly music lessons and repairs. A large bank loan needed to secure the continuation of the company was to be signed on September 12, just one day after the attacks in New York in 2001. After only a five year run, Mars Music closed. Since his passion for music continued, in 2011, Mark opened a rehearsal and lesson studio in Florida, which also includes recording services.
