Michael Pettersen is the official historian of Shure Incorporated. He can tell you everything you’d ever want to know about the long list of innovations and long-lasting microphone developments so much a part of the iconic company. Michael has also served in several roles in his long career at Shure including Director of Applications Engineering. Following his 2005 interview, Michael played a key role in capturing Kay Koster’s NAMM Oral History interview the following year. Kay hired Michael to teach guitar in her store when he was a teenager. He has been involved with the music industry ever since. In 2017, he was given a new role - Director of Corporate History for Shure, which is fitting indeed! Michael was interviewed again 2022, this time with a focus on the career of Shure pioneering engineer Benjamin Bauer.
