Pat Emmett has had a whirlwind of a musical career! He began playing trombone in junior high school and even took lessons while serving in the US Navy. After earning a degree at North Texas University in their jazz program, Pat hit the road with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, which at that time was being led by Buddy DeFranco. Pat worked for many years in clubs, hotel lounges and even the circus before taking a day job in a Southern California music store. He enjoyed the experience and interacting with his customers, which led to music store gigs in Las Vegas where by night he performed in stage bands that appeared with the likes of Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr.. Interested in the manufacturing side of the industry, Pat became a road rep for Leblanc and Sax Dakota as well as Rico Reeds, Moog Music and F. E. Olds whose booth you can often find Pat during the annual NAMM trade show.
