Rich Renken attended Dick Grove’s School of Music in California, where he first encountered the innovative craftsmanship of the James Tyler Guitar Company. Instantly captivated by the meticulous design and exceptional playability of the instruments, he became deeply interested in both the guitars and the visionary behind them. James Tyler, a masterful luthier, honed his skills at Norman’s Rare Guitars in Tarzana, specializing in repairs and custom pickups before founding his own company. Rich worked closely with James for years, eventually becoming his general manager and the driving force behind promoting the guitar line. With a diverse background that includes experience at Line 6, Kahler, and as an audio engineer, Rich remains devoted to upholding the high standards of quality and innovation that define James Tyler’s legacy—ensuring his instruments continue to inspire musicians worldwide.
