Rosa Gil del Bosque

Rosa Gil del Bosque was the only female founder of Amigos de la Guitarra de Valencia, an organization dedicated to presenting concerts that showcase the classical guitar in and around Valencia, Spain. Rosa, who began playing guitar as a child, wrote several songs for the guitar including “Melancolia” and “Evocación Romántica.” A small group of guitar enthusiasts, including Rosa, collaborated to form the AGV back in 1950. Over the years Rosa arranged many of the over 600 concerts that the AGV has hosted. She served as president for several decades lending her skills and dedication to promoting the classical guitar every chance she had. This has only added to her already deep appreciation of the instrument and its Spanish traditions for a multi-generational audience to experience.
