Sam Glenn has had a marvelous career as a saxophonist in big bands and many Los Angeles-based recording studios. He took clarinet lessons at Kitt’s Music in Maryland (now Jordan-Kitt’s Music) when he was a kid and later switched to saxophone. He played in several big bands with leaders such as Red Norvo and Billy Butterfield. On record, Sam can be heard on four albums by the innovative group The Guadalajara Kings, as well as the Beach Boy’s album Pet Sounds! In Fact, Sam still has fond members of the recording session for “Good Vibrations.” In the early 2000s, Sam joined the Big Band Alumni swing orchestra to play among his lifelong friends and entertain dancers and audiences alike.
