Sara Michaelson

Sara Michaelson grew up in the music store her father, Frank Hessy, established in Liverpool, England in the late 1950s. Hessy’s Music was THE store in town to find all of the local bands and to learn of their scheduled gigs. All four members of the Beatles purchased instruments at Hessy’s Music before their big splash in the music world. Sara reflected back on her father’s vision that a guitar boom was on the horizon. With her mother taking the instrument orders and Sara and her sister working behind the counter, the Hessy family was ready for the boom –and boy did it ever come.
