Scott Lombardo
Oral History Information
Scott Lombardo worked in the music products industry since he was fourteen years old! His passion quickly developed after hearing The Beatles three years earlier. He would drill holes and attach wingnuts to his sister’s acoustic guitar to make it look like knobs on an electric guitar. Scott’s first job was at Scotch Plains Music Center in New Jersey, where he would sweep the floor and take out the garbage. At age 23, Scott started working at Sam Ash Music – back when they only had six locations. After beating stage IV cancer and simultaneously selling more MESA/Boogie amps in one year than the whole Sam Ash chain, he was recruited to work for MESA/Boogie. This would be the start of Scott’s long-time career working for many manufacturers including Fender, Gibson, Line 6, Fishman, and finally, QSC. Scott retired from his position as Director of Global eCommerce at QSC in 2021 after a diagnosis of ALS. Scott was also involved in martial arts training for more than 30 years and started V-MAT – a 100% free organization to help Veterans, those in the Reserves, and Active Military create balance in their daily lives using martial arts.
