Sharon Dunckle

Sharon Dunckle runs the music retail store her son, Mike, established when he was just 12 years old.  Mike's Music is located in Eagle River, outside of Anchorage, Alaska.  Mike saw the need to open a store as he bought old instruments to repair with his dad and then resold to his friends.  His original need was to make money to purchase a professional violin, so the store focused on stringed instruments at first, but soon expanded into band and orchestra instruments.  Sharon always provided the business backbone of the store.  When Mike was in school or went off to college, it was Sharon who ran and grew the business for him.  As an interesting side note, her father and his wife, Bill and Dottie Demmers, have been active volunteers at the NAMM Foundation’s Museum of Making Music since just after the museum opened!
