Oral History Information

Stanley Miller received the 2009 Parnelli Audio Innovator Award for his long and successful career in the music and concert production industries.  In 1962 he opened a small commercial audio store designing sound systems. He would provide sound for acts like the Smother’s Brothers and the Carpenters when they toured the Midwest. In 1967 he found himself in Vermillion, S.D. working with a couple of acts including a young singer/songwriter out of New York named Neil Diamond. Stanley has worked with Pink Floyd and Bob Dylan as well as John Denver and many, many other top performers.  With Diamond, he designed the sound system and worked the sound console for all of his historic and record-breaking world tours over the past 40 plus years.  Stanley admits it has been a strange career, but one he has enjoyed very much.
