Musician, Drummer

Stéphane Avellaneda was born in Sisteron, southern France, and developed an insatiable passion for drumming from an early age. His high-energy and deeply expressive drumming has provided the rhythmic backbone for an impressive lineup of artists, including Jonny Lang, Ben Poole, BB King, and flutist Rachel Ombredane, his partner in the electro-pop duo RoSaWay, which they co-founded in 2018. Just a few years later, RoSaWay’s breakout track “Dreamer” garnered worldwide recognition, leading to prestigious performances and acclaimed recordings, including “On Your Way Up,” “Take What’s Good for You” and Girl.” Stéphane’s creative and dynamic playing has earned him numerous accolades, including being named one of the top five blues drummers with a Drummies Award in 2015. His ability to blend groove, technical precision, and genre-defying artistry continues to make him a sought-after musician on the global stage.
