103rd NAMM Show Breaks Attendance and Exhibition Records
Exhibitors and Attendees Leave Show with Optimistic Outlook for 2005
NAMM, the International Music Products Association, today announced final registration and exhibitor numbers for the 2005 NAMM Show. At show close, NAMM reported a 5 percent increase in overall registration for a grand total of 78,091 registrants. The organization previously announced breaking the all-time record of exhibitors with 1,428 companies taking space at this year's NAMM Show.
International attendance grew substantially with a 10 percent increase for a total of 8,416 registrants from 91 countries.
At the 2005 gathering, the record crowds marveled at the latest musical instruments and products, attended valuable seminars and saw many artists and celebrities, all while experiencing the sunny weather and warm hospitality of Southern California.
“The NAMM Show once again united the global music products industry for four days of business, ideas and camaraderie,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO, NAMM. “The positive energy and the sense of optimism that electrified the Anaheim Convention Center is a very good indicator to our Members of a strong year ahead.”
“It's been a great show for us,” said second-year exhibitor Mark Altekruse of Apple Computer. “We have built a lot of solid awareness with pro-audio customers, and that's exactly what we came here to do. The NAMM Show is now part of our company's business calendar every year.”
Most exhibitors agreed, many of whom used the show to introduce new products. Thousands of new products are launched each year at the NAMM Show, and this year was no exception.
“The 2005 show has been very positive,” said Michael Kovins of KORG USA. “We were able to launch our new OASYS synthesizer at this show, and there is no other venue where we could have launched it but the NAMM Show.”
NAMM reinvests the revenue from its world-class trade shows to fund programs, activities and initiatives designed to stimulate demand for music products; and provide valuable services to help its Members succeed. This “circle of benefits” model allows NAMM to work toward its mission of unifying, leading and strengthening the global music products industry and increasing active participation in music making.
NAMM's next trade show for the music products industry, the 2005 NAMM Summer Session, will take place in Indianapolis, Ind., July 22–24, 2005. For more information, visit www.nammsummersession.com. The 104th NAMM Show will take place in Anaheim, Calif., January 19–22, 2006.
