2011 Summer NAMM Public Day Session Schedule Announced
The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) today announced the schedule for its “Wanna Play Music Day” (July 23, 2011) during the 2011 Summer NAMM event in Nashville. The trade event is opening its doors to music enthusiasts to see the latest music products yet to hit the market and to participate in educational music-making sessions. Highlights include appearances by N.Y. Yankee great and Latin-GRAMMY-nominated jazz guitarist, Bernie Williams among other national and local artists and celebrities. Tickets are on sale now at https://ww1.namm.org/summer/2011/wannaplay for $15 through July 8, and $20 up until the show.

A Nashville favorite returns to Summer NAMM to celebrate its 10th anniversary! Come and prove you have what it takes to be the world’s fastest drummer!
Hi-Tech Demos (Every 30 Minutes)

Robert Marcello of Danger Danger will be demonstrating the Roland GR-55 Guitar Synthesizer and the renowned keyboardist and composer Scott Tibbs will demonstrate the Jupiter 80. This is the first demonstration to the public of the Jupiter 80.
Jam Camp 365

Jam Camp 365 is here to teach, enable and inspire “full-band” rock music lesson programs at any location. NAMM Member retailers will leave the booth with a simple method for creating more foot traffic, additional revenue and reinvigorating their existing customer base. Using the techniques learned at the Jam Camp 365 booth, stores will begin their jam camp programs immediately after leaving Summer NAMM and enjoy new revenues in August.

Dick Boak, archivist for Martin Guitar, will offer an interactive history of the 178-year-old guitar company, as well as showcase several important examples demonstrating the evolution of Martin acoustic guitars. The presentation will focus on the development of the modern acoustic guitar, Martin’s historical contributions to the definitive acoustic guitar design, artist signature model collaborations, and on specific guitar shapes, sizes and tonewoods that lend themselves to particular musical genres.
