Eight New Board Members Elected at NAMM's Annual Meeting of Members

Anaheim, CA

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, today held its Annual Meeting of Members presided over by Chairman Paul Heid during the 2004 NAMM Show. After introducing past presidents in attendance, Heid called for the vote of the new slate of the NAMM Board of Directors. The following NAMM Members were elected for service from 2004 to 2007:

Russell Beacock is president of Beacock Music Co., Inc., a full-line retailer based in Vancouver, Wash. Beacock is a member of the National Association of School Music Dealers, the Retail Print Music Dealers Association, the Music Industry Insights Group, the Harlu Music Group and the Music Educators Association.

Brian Chung is senior vice president of Kawai America Corporation, a manufacturer of acoustic and digital pianos, based in Rancho Dominguez, Calif. Chung is current chair of the Music Teachers National Association Foundation Development Committee and the immediate past president of the Piano Manufacturers Association International.

Wu-Hung Hsieh is chairman of KHS Musical Instrument Co., Ltd., a Taiwan-based manufacturer and distributor of musical accessories, acoustic fretted instruments, brass instruments, electric guitars, electric pianos/keyboards, pianos, stringed instruments, synthesizers and woodwinds.

Roy Larrick is president of Larrick Piano and Organ, a six-store retailer based in Sacramento, Calif.

Susan Lipp is president of Full Compass Systems, Ltd., a Middleton, Wis.-based national mail order audio, video, lighting, and A/V sales and rental company. Lipp sits on seven non-profit boards of directors and is a member of the National Systems Contractors Association.

Daniel Marshall is president/CEO of Marshall Music Company, a six-store full-line retailer based in Lansing, Mich. Marshall is a member of the National Association of School Music Dealers, the American Music Conference and the Alliance of Independent Music Merchants.

Ellen McDonald is owner/manager of Hartland Music Center, a full-line retailer based in Hartland, Wis., and creator/administrator of the Waukesha County Conservatory of Music, a unique education facility located within Hartland Music. McDonald is a member of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association, Wisconsin State Music Association, National Piano Foundation and Hartland Chamber of Commerce.

Craigie Zildjian is CEO/chairman of the board of directors of Avedis Zildjian Company, a manufacturer of cymbals, drumsticks and other percussion accessories, based in Norwell, Mass. Zildjian is a member of the Berklee College Board of Trustees, the New England Conservatory Board of Overseers and is on the board of advisors for the International Association for Jazz Education.

In accordance with NAMM’s bylaws, Bill Carpenter was also elected by the Board of Directors for a two-year term to fill the vacancy created when Robert Palmer resigned from the Board.

Heid also recognized incoming National Association of Young Music Merchants (NAYMM) president Jake Connolly and outgoing president Gary Girouard.

Heid then introduced outgoing NAMM Board Members who have successfully completed their service to the industry: Kevin Cranley, president of Willis Music Company in Florence, Kentucky; Jeffrey Eckroth, vice president/general manager of Eckroth Music Company in Bismarck, North Dakota; Mark Goff, president of Paige’s Music in Indianapolis, Indiana; Kathi Kretzer, owner of Kretzer Piano in West Palm Beach, Florida; Kevin Prosser, president of Prosser Piano & Organ in Tacoma, Washington; Dan Slick, AGM/managing director of Technics Musical Instruments in Seacaucus, New Jersey; and Briant Summerhays, CEO of Summerhays Music Center in Murray, Utah.

The meeting was adjourned after the presentation, as no new business was initiated by attending Members.
