Eight New Board Members Elected at NAMM's Annual Meeting of Members

Carlsbad, CA

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, today held its Annual Meeting of Members presided over by Chairman Paul Heid during the 2005 NAMM Show. After introducing past presidents in attendance, Heid called for the vote of the new slate of the NAMM Board of Directors. The following NAMM Members were elected for service from 2005 to 2008:

Rick Drumm is president of Vic Firth, Inc., a manufacturer of drumsticks and accessories, based in Dedham, Mass. Drumm is a member of the American Music Conference, National Association for School Music Dealers, Music Distributors Association, Percussive Arts Society and MENC, the National Association for Music Education.

Gary Hanser is vice president of Hanser Holdings International (HHI), a third-generation, Ohio-based music company that owns Davitt & Hanser, B.C. Rich Guitars, Kustom Amplification, OLP Guitars and Elite Music Brands. Hanser has been a member of the Music Distributors Association since 1978.

Bryan McCann is president of Instrumental Music, a full-line retailer based in Ventura, Calif. Instrumental Music currently operates three stores in California. McCann, an active musician, is a member of the Alliance of Independent Music Merchants.

Dale Miller is president of DJ Miller Music Distributors, Inc., a distributor of karaoke products for singers and instrumental play-along products, based in Boulder, Colo. Miller is a member of the Retail Print Music Dealers Association.

Jerome Murphy is treasurer of M. Steinert & Sons, a retailer of piano, keyboards and print music, based in Boston, Mass. Murphy is vice chairman of the Retailers Association of Massachusetts.

Richard Rejino is co-owner/vice president of Brook Mays Print Music, a supplier of printed music, gift items and textbooks, based in Dallas, Texas. Rejino, who has been in the print industry for 22 years, is a past president of the Retail Print Music Dealers Association, a consultant for Hal Leonard Corp., associate director of the National Piano Teachers Institute and a member of the Music Teachers National Association, Texas Music Teachers Association and Carrollton Music Teachers Association.

Dean Samuel is CEO of Samuel Music, a full-line retailer based in Effingham, Ill. Samuel Music currently operates five stores in Illinois. Samuel is a member of OMEGA and the Alliance of Independent Music Merchants.

Denny Senseney is president of Senseney Music, Inc., a full-line retailer based in Wichita, Kan. Senseney is on the board of directors of the Midwest Clinic, is a member of the American Music Conference and a past president of the National Association for School Music Dealers, the Retail Print Music Dealers Association and the Kansas Music Merchants Association.

Heid then introduced outgoing NAMM Board Members who have successfully completed their service to the industry: Sterling Ball, president of Ernie Ball, Inc., San Luis Obispo, Calif; Richard Gore, vice president of Pender's Music Company, Denton, Texas; Whitney Brown-Grisaffi, director of operations, Ted Brown Music Company, Tacoma, Wash.; Greg Hendershott, president of Cakewalk, Boston, Mass.; Henry K.S. Lee, president of Tom Lee Music Co., Ltd., Vancouver, Canada; Terry Lewis, senior vice president of Yamaha Corporation of America, Buena Park, Calif.; Dave Phillips, president of Dave Phillips Music and Sound, Inc., Phillipsburg, N.J.; and Bob Saied, president of Saied Music Company, Tulsa, Okla.

The meeting was adjourned after the presentation, as no new business was initiated by attending Members.
