Keynote Speaker Sir Ken Robinson to Open 2004 NAMM Show
First Opening Keynote in NAMM's History to Take Place Thursday, January 15
NAMM, the International Music Products Association, has announced that Sir Ken Robinson, an internationally recognized expert in the development of creativity, innovation and human resources, will be the organization's first-ever opening keynote speaker. Sir Ken Robinson will open the 2004 NAMM Show with his address in the Anaheim Hilton California A Ballroom at 8 a.m. on January 15.
Currently the senior advisor to the president of the J. Paul Getty Center in Los Angeles, Sir Ken will discuss the experiences that have given him unique perspectives on changing patterns of training and human capital development in the context of rapid economic and social change.
Previously a professor of education at Warwick University in the U.K., Ken Robinson was awarded a knighthood in June 2003 in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the arts. Sir Ken's vision and expertise is sought by public and commercial organizations throughout the world and by a range of governments including Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Singapore and Hong Kong. An author, his latest book Out of Our Minds was published to rave critical reviews in March 2001. He has since been in demand as an inspirational speaker for his unique talent of conveying a profoundly serious message with enormous humor, passion and wit.
