NAMM Announces New Features for 2010 NAMM Show

NAMM Show outside
Carlsbad, CA

What’s new for the 2010 NAMM Show? is the question many are asking as anticipation begins to build leading up to the music products industry’s most important annual event, which will be held January 14-17, 2010, in Anaheim, Calif. And NAMM doesn’t disappoint with several new features to enhance the show experience for attendees this year.

Engage in Sound and Lighting at the New H.O.T. Zone

NAMM is serious about giving its Members every opportunity to come out of this recession stronger, more knowledgeable and better positioned for success. And they've invited various Member organizations to rethink, rebuild and plan for the future of this industry by participating in the new H.O.T. (Hands-On Training) Zone on Level 2 of the Anaheim Convention Center.

Aimed at examining today's challenges, this new forum is designed to create custom solutions targeted especially to professionals in the live audio, House of Worship, and stage and lighting industries. More than 15 industry partners, publishers, organizations and associations will offer a series of FREE special training seminars, face-to-face meetings, networking opportunities, and one-on-one mentoring to strengthen the knowledge base of industry colleagues.

“Follow Me” Mobile Application

NAMM and Core Apps are working to bring NAMM Show attendees an exciting new mobile application called “Follow Me,” designed to enhance the trade show experience beyond anything else available on a smart phone. Unique features that include linking attendees to each others’ schedules, an interactive show schedule and floor maps with routing to booths, social media interaction, and the ability to download e-brochures from the exhibitors, thus eliminating the need to carry around large bags filled with literature. “Follow Me” also delivers e-coupons and discounts from local restaurants and attractions.

Finals Event for the SchoolJam USA Competition

On Saturday, January 16 at 2 p.m. the NAMM Show will play host to the finals of the first annual SchoolJam USA competition. Attendees can come outside to watch the top high-school bands battle it out for big prizes for the bands and their schools’ music programs on the Wanna Play? stage in front of the Anaheim Arena Plaza. The event promises to be a good time and filled with special celebrity guest appearances.

Tools for Schools

Again this year, show attendees will have the opportunity to interact with hundreds of music educators who have been invited to walk the show floor in search of the latest products. NAMM will be working with School Band and Orchestra (SBO) Magazine to pick the top "Tools for Schools." Stay tuned to namm.org for further information on the upcoming Tools For Schools activities at the 2010 NAMM Show.
