NAMM Announces Search for New Market Development Director

Carlsbad, Calif.

NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, today announced its search for a new staff director to manage market outreach and promotion strategies in order to increase active participation in music making.

The Director of Market Development position will create and maintain national partnerships and promotions that will be executed in local markets to directly impact NAMM Member retail stores.

"Public visibility and appreciation of music making is expanding, and right now NAMM has an opportunity to ensure that our Members make the most of it by offering market promotions and partnerships that make the local community music store the focal point of the story," said Joe Lamond, president/CEO, NAMM. "The ideal candidate is someone who understands the challenges that retailers are facing today and who can work directly with them to leverage NAMM's resources to maximize our impact and help grow the market for all our Members."

NAMM reinvests more than $6 million annually in activities, programs and initiatives that have recently included the Vans' Warped Tour, Camp Jams, the National Anthem Project, the Fortune Battle of the Corporate Bands, the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, World's Fastest Drummer Competition, Sesame Street Music Works as well as a roster of dealer-focused recreational music making programs such as Weekend Warriors and New Horizons Band.
