NAMM Foundation Acknowledges NAMM President’s Innovation Award and Tuition Scholarship Recipients at 2010 NAMM Show
Foundation Welcomes Students Pursuing Music Products Industry Careers
The NAMM Foundation acknowledged its 2010 NAMM President’s Innovation Award and Industry Scholarship recipients this morning during a gathering at the 2010 NAMM Show of more than 400 college students aspiring toward careers in the music product industry.
The presentation was made during Day Two of NAMM’s Collegiate Program sessions for college students planning to pursue careers in the music products industry.
“These awards are helping recruit the best and brightest who will become the future leaders of this industry,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO, NAMM. “Industry support of NAMM’s trade shows allows the NAMM Board to encourage the next generation of young people with support to further their education, and to give back to worthy community programs designed to create more music makers of all ages and abilities.”

The NAMM President’s Innovation Award is provided to undergraduate and graduate students. The cash award supports qualified college students to attend NAMM’s annual global music products trade show in Anaheim, Calif. Awards help with travel needs and expenses to attend the show. Awardees will participate in professional development offerings at the show and have access to the more than 1,500 music products exhibits that constitute this global music products trade show.
NAMM Foundation Music Products Industry Scholarships offer tuition scholarships of $2,500 to $5,000 to support full-time music business and music education college students who demonstrate unique qualifications and proven interest in pursuing careers in the music products industry. Funds will be administered by the student’s university and were partially allocated to support the costs of scholarship recipients’ travel to the 2010 NAMM Show.
