NAMM Show to Remain in Anaheim Through 2010

New Contract Offers Stability and Lower Hotel Rates

Carlsbad, Calif.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, today announced a new six-year deal with the City of Anaheim to continue to host “the NAMM Show,” the association’s 103-year-old trade show for the musical instrument and products industry, through 2010.

“NAMM is a global community of people who are passionate about music,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO, NAMM. “For us, the NAMM Show is something that marks more than our calendars, with many industry veterans marking their careers by which NAMM show a particular event happened or what year they attended their first show. The NAMM Show is an anchor of this great industry and we signed this new contract to provide our Members around the world with a sense of stability for years to come.”

NAMM reinvests the majority of its trade show revenue to fund programs, initiatives and activities that benefit the music products industry. This “circle of benefits” model provides NAMM with the resources to fulfill its mission of creating more active music makers worldwide.

As part of the terms of the comprehensive package, NAMM once again used its volume-buying power to negotiate low hotel rates and keep all other show-related expenses as affordable as possible for its Members.

“Our Members spoke and we listened,” said Kevin Johnstone, director of trade shows, NAMM. “Anaheim has been a great home to our industry’s biggest trade gathering for many years and we are happy to say that our Members can rest assured that the NAMM Show will be in Anaheim every January.”
