NAMM Takes Further Steps to Enhance Productivity at Trade Shows
New 2009 NAMM Show Policy Change Prohibits Visitors Under Age 16
NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, continued its efforts to ensure a professional business atmosphere at its trade shows by announcing today a new policy change, which will prohibit visitors under the age of 16 from attending the shows.
According to the new policy, any visitors from the trade/industry under the age of 16 may only attend NAMM trade shows if they are employees or endorsed artists as verified by an active NAMM Member company. According to NAMM’s recent annual surveys, decreasing the number of visitors on the show floor is a top Member concern due to the congestion and additional noise level on the show floor.
“Last year we asked all of our exhibitors to reduce their visitor allotments in an effort to keep the show floor clear of non-business-related attendees,” said Kevin Johnstone, director of trade shows. “This year, we’re continuing our work in this area in order to create the best possible business environment for all of our NAMM Members.”
The 2009 NAMM Show will be held January 15–18, 2009, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. For more information please visit www.namm.org.
