Hal Harrower proudly recalls when he was 14 years old and his mother purchased his first guitar. He fell in love with the instrument and while in high school in 1969 he formed the band, the Undecided. Hal sought to create his own style of guitars and designed his first double-neck instrument in 1987, a 6-string guitar and a 4-string bass. Using the Steinberger system, that first instrument built by Hal not only looked different, it sounded different and gained a reputation for its clean sound. Hal developed a line of guitars, both single and double neck that have been played on tour and in the movies over the last few decades. Hal has come to be a regular attendee at the NAMM Show and in recent years has been a strong supporter of the annual NAMM Tribute and the NAMM Oral History program. With his wife by his side, Hal was presented the 2025 NAMM Believe in Music Award for his many contributions to the music industry and music makers around the world.
